Another recipe for homemade Worcestershire sauce without fish sauce or anchovies. An incredibly easy recipe for gluten free, low-calorie and low-sodium version of the famous sauce.

Making your own sauces is the best way to avoid unhealthy ingredients such as sodium and control calories.

INGREDIENTS ------------------

Makes about 300 ml of sauce

250 ml [1 cup] apple cider vinegar

80 ml [1/3 cup] liquid aminos [or low sodium soy sauce]

2 tbsp xylitol crystals, for low calorie version [or 3 tbsp brown sugar]

1 tsp Dijon mustard

1/2 tsp ground allspice

1/2 tsp ground ginger

1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

1/2 tsp black garlic paste [or garlic powder]

1/2 tsp onion powder

1/2 tsp finely ground black pepper

METHOD ------------------

  1. Add all ingredients to a small pot and cover. Turn the heat on low. Heat until it's brought to a simmer.

  2. Remove from the heat and allow to cool.

  3. Store in a glass jar in the fridge for up to 3 months. Shake before use.
