DENSE, DELICIOUS, & HEALTHY ROLLS MADE IN YOUR OWN KITCHEN.
INGREDIENTS ------------------
Makes 4 large rolls or 8 small ones
1 chia egg [1 tbsp ground chia seeds + 4 tbsp water]
1/4 cup buckwheat flour
1/2 cup cassava flour
1/2 cup coconut flour
1/2 cup arrowroot starch
2 tbsp psyllium husk + 150 ml warm water
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 1/2 cup water
1 tsp unrefined salt
sesame seeds for topping
[optional] 1 tsp dry oregano
METHOD ---------------------
Preheat oven to 200°C.
In a large bowl combine flours and salt, Stir to combine well.
In a small bowl combine psyllium husk with warm water and whisk until it forms jelly mixture.
In a separate small bowl make a chia egg by whisking ground chia with water.
Mix baking soda with apple cider vinegar.
Combine flours with water, vinegar mix, chia egg and psyllium husk mixture. Stir until all is smooth and well combined.
Shape rolls [you can also bake it as bread loaf - simply place the batter in a greased or parchment lined loaf pan]. Brush with small amount of water and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Bake for 70 minutes or until the rolls are firm and a toothpick inserted in the centre pulls out clean. Leave the rolls in the oven turned off for 10 minutes before taking them out.
Let cool completely before slicing and serving. Enjoy!
