RED HOT CHILLI SAUCE

QUICK & EASY TO MAKE, THIS VERSATILE CHILLI SAUCE CAN BE USED TO SPICE UP ANY DISH.





makes 1 small jar



INGREDIENTS ------------------


6 cayenne peppers

3 ripe tomatoes, peeled

1 medium


onion

1 garlic clove

1 tsp oregano [fresh or dried]

1 tbsp olive oil


1 tsp chilli powder

1 tbsp natural sweetener such as stevia, xylitol, etc. [or sugar if you want]

70 ml organic apple cider vinegar unrefined salt to taste





METHOD ------------------


  1. Blitz chillies, onion, garlic in a food processor. Heat a small amount of olive oil in a pan and add the chilli mixture. Heat gently, adding apple cider vinegar, chopped tomatoes, spices, salt, sweetener [or sugar]. Continue to cook until thickened.

  2. Add salt /natural sweetener as required to balance the taste.

  3. Return to food processor or use a hand blender to blitz until completely smooth.

  4. Transfer to a glass jar and store in a fridge.



Goes wonderfully with Twice Baked Potatoes
